Safe Kids Worldwide is a global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 14 and under.
More than 450 coalitions in 16 countries bring together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families. The organization was founded in 1987 by Children's National Medical Center with support from Johnson & Johnson. Safe Kids Worldwide is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Washington, D.C.

The goal of PHOTOVOICE is to help kids learn proper road traffic safety and become safer pedestrians.
In observance of International Walk to School Month, a reception for PHOTOVOICE was held at The World Bank in Washington, D.C., on October 21 to highlight the results of the project and celebrate the collaboration between The World Bank and Safe Kids Worldwide’s Walk This Way program in addressing children’s road safety issues.
Mitch Stoller, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide, joined Katherine Sierra, Sustainable Development V.P. at The World Bank, and David Ward, Director General of the FIA Foundation, at the opening of the exhibit to call attention to international efforts to improve road safety for kids.
The international PHOTOVOICE exhibit was also displayed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Ga., at the Safe Kids Child Injury Prevention Conference in Washington, D.C., and at FedEx Asia Pacific Headquarters in Hong Kong.

The work of Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids China was featured on June 16, 2008, in China Daily, which has the widest print circulation (200,000 per issue) of any English-language newspaper in China, and on chinadaily.com.
The article "Protecting the Young" focused on injury prevention successes in China and highlighted Johnson & Johnson's long-term commitment to Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids China.

Washington, D.C. – Safe Kids Worldwide has named Mitchell R. Stoller as its new president and chief executive officer.
Stoller, who joins Safe Kids Worldwide from The Marrow Foundation, the fundraising arm of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), has served as chief executive at the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, where he was responsible for increasing funding from $1.6 million to $16 million.
With more than 26 years of experience in public health fund development and leadership, Stoller will capably steer Safe Kids Worldwide through a critical next chapter in the organization’s development, said Diana Goldberg, chairman of the Safe Kids Worldwide board of directors, in making the announcement.
